PRESIDENTIAL PERSPECTIVE An Amazing ALOA 2018 so many networking opportunities and a lot of fun. The area around the Gaylord proved to be very walkable and convenient for attendees, and I heard from many that they were able to take some time to go view the sights of our nation’s capital. Thank you to everyone who made this convention a success, from staff and board to volunteers and attendees. You all played a part in making this a fun and productive event. Every year, the ALOA staff and board I attentively listen to feedback from our members and attendees about our con- ventions and other events. After all, this is your convention as members, and we want to make it as beneficial as possible. This year, we added some events to the convention that certainly increased the value for attendees. New for this year were the Active Shooter Seminars, pro- vided by our institutional professionals, and the Tech Pavilion on the Security Expo floor. These events allowed for free education for attendees, giving you a little bonus to your registration. The seminars provided students with information on the latest code changes and safety prac- WWW.ALOA.ORG hope everyone who attended ALOA 2018 in National Harbor had a wonderful time enjoying the industry’s finest event. It was a week of great education, tices for schools, and the Tech Pavilion provided product demonstrations and free education on the latest technology in automotive. While these are but two changes, we’re always looking for ways to improve the conventions. Please take the time to let us know what you’d like to see at the con- vention. Have a class idea? Want a certain kind of event? Tell us. We can’t guarantee we can make it happen, but we certainly can’t try if we don’t know. We always send out a convention survey each year. Please take a few moments to let us know your thoughts. If you missed ALOA 2018, I do hope you’ll join us next year in Las Vegas. We’ll be at the South Point Hotel and Casino August 11-17. We’re excited to be headed back to Las Vegas, and we know you’ll enjoy this venue and location.
