Many industry leaders have volun- teered some of their resources to assist the association in the development of marketing strategies to grow the annual convention and membership. The examination of all facets of ALOA administration is taking place to reduce expenses and increase income while pro- viding membership value. It’s believed that we’ll be making the necessary ad- justments in staffing — to enable future prosperity for ALOA — with the addition of a marketing position. I know that we’re expending all of our energies developing programs to create a strong and viable organization for the future. In spite of previous years’ economic conditions that have had a drastic effect on most busi- nesses, and the challenges that we’ve had to address — such as lower convention and class attendance; locksmith scam- mer issues; exhibitor booth and personnel downsizing; reduction in sponsorships; and fewer renewals, to name a few — we’re well-positioned for future success.
