PRESIDENTIAL PERSPECTIVE Plan for Success in 2019 I hope everyone had a fantas- tic Thanksgiving and Christmas! May the New Year be a prosper- ous one for you all and filled with successes and met goals. 2019 Goals While I wish success for you all, it’s up to you to make it happen — and that means planning. As we begin January, take some time to write out your business goals for the year. Maybe you want to gain new customers or increase profitability from the ones you have. Or perhaps you want to enter a new service area, learn a new skill or hire more employees. Maybe net- working is on your list so you can bet- ter connect to the community of secu- rity professionals for advice, referrals or camaraderie. What’s incredible is that, for all of the goals above, ALOA can help. Go to the ALOA Convention and SAFETECH to network and learn new technical or busi- ness skills. Take advantage of ALOA’s membership benefits such as your free FindALocksmith.com listing (make sure it’s up to date!) to better reach new cus- tomers. Enact the advice in Keynotes business articles to better market to new customers. There’s so many ways that ALOA can help you professionally. If you can’t make the time commitment to serve on the ALOA Board, one way that everyone can get more involved is to re- cruit new members. Connect with your local security professional community and let them know about the amazing benefits you get with ALOA membership. Have an employee or coworker who is not yet a member? Offer to sponsor him or her! Talk to people at local tradeshows and events. Growing the membership is important to bring in fresh voices and perspectives to the association and to keep the industry moving forward. Be a part of those efforts to keep ALOA membership strong.
