EXECUTIVE PERSPECTIVE New Year, New Opportunities H appy 2016! The new year makes many of us pause to reflect on re- cent accomplishments and how we plan to move forward with new goals. It’s no different for us at ALOA — and we’re especially reflective with it being our 60th year as an association. I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped give ALOA a great 2015. From our enthusiastic members and board to our advertisers, sponsors and hardworking staff, you made this past year possible. And really, not just possible, but great. We inducted dedicated new board members (while regretfully saying fare- well to our former officers) and had suc- cessful events such as the ALOA Conven- tion & Security Expo and SAFETECH in Reno, and the Security Leaders Forum in California. We gained new members, saw many of you become more involved with your association and Keynotes remained the number-one industry publication. We created new classes, fought scammers and saw our industry grow. One proudest highlights, of course, w grand opening of the Aaron M. F curity Training Center, the culmi of so many people’s donations and e (see page 26 for photos and highl Thank you again to everyon made these things happen. We wo be ALOA without you. But it wouldn’t be a new year w goals — and this year, ALOA lead has resolved to make membersh cruitment a priority. There is st in increasing our numbers. Throu stered membership, we can provide addi- tional benefits, education and elevate our profession even more. And to increase membership, we need help from you, our current members. But you won’t just be helping your asso- ciation and industry; you can personally benefit too! Those who recruit the most new members will have a chance to win a flat-screen TV. Not bad for simply mak- ing new ALOA friends and colleagues. The new recruits will receive some for the year, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.
