SPOTLIGHT INVESTIGATIVE “As we close out the year, think about your professional career and what you can do to improve your personal worth.” Plan for Education in 2017 IAIL President Tom Demont encourages members to set up their educational calendars for the coming year. I 18 want to wish everyone a happy and blessed holiday season. It’s at this time of the year that we give thanks for everything wonderful that has trans- pired throughout the year. Now is the time to think about your employees and write a special note to them in their holiday card, and don’t forget to put a little something in there to help ease the holiday spending. As we close out the year, think about your professional career and what you can do to improve your personal worth. Education should be on your agenda as a steady diet sprinkled throughout the year so that you learn, then apply. Set up your educa- tional calendar for 2017 now and work toward meeting those goals for expanding your knowledge. How are you coming along with your requirement to achieve your Certified Fo- rensic Locksmith (CFL) credential? You only need to be a member of IAIL for one year, take all of the prerequisite classes, and complete your paperwork to sit for the exam. Remember, as an expert witness you can’t have too many credentials; more is KEYNOTES DECEMBER 2016 better! How about your other credentials? It’s just taking tests, and remember that you learn what to study for when you fail a test. I’ve only passed a few tests on the first try, but I didn’t give up, and neither should you. When you pay your ALOA dues, just check off the IAIL dues and for $50 an- nually; we can open up a new world of locksmithing for you.
