28CornerstoneSummer2026 agchouston.org PAST EVENTS On April 17-18, 2026, Houston’s commercial construc- tion industry came together for AGC Houston’s 34th Annual BBQ Cook-Off at the Fort Bend County Fair- grounds, where 28 teams competed for top honors. Please join us in congratulating this year’s Grand Champion, Doodie Calls, and Reserve Grand Cham- pion, Campos Engineering, Inc. Hoar Construction also took home the 2026 People’s Choice Award. Thank you to all the participating teams, sponsors, volunteers and attendees for making the event such a success. This year’s cook-off raised funds for the PTSD Foun- dation of America Camp Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides a caring and supportive environment for soldiers, veterans and their families as they receive treatment for combat-related PTSD. As an added incen- tive, the cook team that raised the most funds earned a free spot at next year’s event. This year, two teams tied for the top fundraising honor. Congratulations to Hoar Construction and Linbeck Group, LLC for topping the leaderboard and winning the coveted cook space! As always, we could not do what we do without the support of our members. At each BBQ Cook-Off, we present the Ralph Morton Spirit Award to an outstand- ing individual who goes above and beyond to help AGC Houston staff bring this event to life. This year’s recipient was Nathan Kolbaba of Encore Concrete Construction, LLC. Thank you for all you do, Nathan. We’re truly grateful for your support! Now in its 34th year, the AGC Houston BBQ Cook-Off continues to be a favorite among our members. We hope to see y’all there next year as we continue bringing people together to advance the issues important to the commercial construction industry.
